EXCEPTIONAL VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Options Public Charter School's proven programs are designed so your child will LEARN!

• Cosmetology - This is a two year program taken during the students junior and senior year. Students will develop and practice basic skills in the art of cosmetology as they develop a broad understanding of various career options available to a licensed cosmetologist. Instruction and experiences include fashionable hair cutting and styling techniques; maintaining skin and scalp health.
• Culinary Arts - This is a three year program starting with Food and Nutrition where students learn the basic cooking skills and the understanding of nutrition. The next is vocationally driven. Students have two years to master our Pro Start program. A national Program geared to giving those who are considering culinary arts as a career.
• Entrepreneurship - A semester or yearlong class here with a NFTE-certified teacher that will guide our students through the curriculum: Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future Each student will be able to come up with an idea for a business and works throughout the course to prepare a business plan which they will present and defend to a panel of judges.
• JROTC - This program emphasizes character education, student achievement, wellness, leadership, and diversity. It is a cooperative effort on the part of the military services and host institutions to produce successful students and citizens.
• Technology - This is a yearlong course that will allow students to get familiar and master the Microsoft Office Suite through Word, Excel and Power Point.
